About Us

Lewis Nottonson

Hey, I'm from Acton Massachusetts! My passion for the outdoors has been the culmination of my love for fly fishing, skiing, mountain biking, trail running and many other activities over the course of my childhood. Since I could walk, my family has encouraged me to explore and respect the natural world. This has driven me to get involved in local conservation and cleanup efforts and to volunteer to teach others the sports I spend so much time doing. The outdoor events we will be holding for kids at places we stop at along the way are an aspect of the trip I'm extremely excited for. It is a great feeling to know you can introduce and instill an interest and appreciation for the outdoors in young children's minds, who in turn can do the same in future years.

Making a culminating film of our travels and the experiences we have along the way is key part of our project. Will, Scott, Andy and I have watched countless documentary style films of incredibly driven people doing amazing things all around the world and we would love to have the opportunity to put our own in the books!

I am from Peru, Vermont.  I have grown up exploring and adventuring. I love to fly fish, mountain bike, longboard, and ski. I am super stoked for this trip because we have a really fun compassionate group of kids. I am a Gawlik award winning film director as well as a Director of Photography for many other award winning films.  I have spent the past few summers building and maintaining hiking trails in the Adirondack Park. I have also spent countless hours volunteering in my community maintaining and building trails. This summer I wanted to branch out. I as well as Andy, Lewis, and Will want to take our passion for the outdoors further than our local communities and we want to share our experience with you. By documenting our journey across the country exploring, adventuring, and fishing in many different states we can motivate and influence others to explore the outdoors. In a generation where technology is beginning to consume our lives I believe that we can share our love and devotion for the outdoors and influence others to live a healthy adventurous lifestyle. Overall I think this trip will be a humbling and life changing opportunity for all of us.

I am from Newton, Massachusetts. Some of my favorite activities include: mountain biking, longboarding, running, cooking, and eating. I am really excited to be a part of this trip because it will allow me to interact with groups of kids all over the country and share my passion for the outdoors with them. My experiences as a counselor-in-training and a local summer camp a few years ago showed me how much of a positive impact the outdoors can have on kids. During my time as a CIT, I saw kids who came into the camp as nervous first-year campers develop a love for sports and the outdoors. This love for the outdoors allowed them to connect with kids who had similar interests and allowed them to foster great friendships throughout the camp. I believe my experiences as a CIT are a true testament to how the outdoors can bring people together and make this world a better place.

I'm from the beautiful city of Newton Massachusetts. I've been skiing and riding mountain bikes since I was eight years old and I'm stoked to share those passions with kids across the country this summer. Ever since I could walk my parents tried to inspire a love of the outdoors in me, from taking me on rides around the local park when I first learned to ride a bike to leading me up Half Dome at age eight. Their efforts when I was young made the outdoors a key part of my life and instilled in me a deep respect for nature. As a result I've spent the better part of my school years out in the woods, digging jumps on bike trails, taking long runs in the woods, and ripping around the ski trails. These outdoor experiences have had incredibly positive effects on my life, teaching me the importance of protecting the natural world, providing an escape from any problems in my life, and and imparting upon me the value of hard work through training for endurance sports. I hope that in our trip this summer I can pass on this love of the outdoors and the thrills of skiing and riding to kids across America, providing them with the same great lessons I learned from the woods and expanding the community invested in protecting America's natural landscape.
